The Coach

Hi, I'm Jen.

Feeling unsure about what's next can be overwhelming.

Maybe you're considering college, a career path, a gap year, a trade program, or something entirely different. The challenge usually isn't a lack of opportunities, it's figuring out which path feels right for you.

If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed by choices, or worried about making the wrong decision, you're not alone.

At Your Next Move Coaching, I help students and young adults gain clarity, build confidence, and move forward with purpose.

  • I've spent much of my career helping students and young adults navigate important transitions, decisions, and next steps.

What makes this work especially meaningful to me is that I've lived many of those transitions myself. I've changed majors, transferred colleges, explored different career paths, completed graduate school later in life, and continued learning through additional training and professional development along the way.

As a mom of three teenagers and young adults, I also understand the questions, pressures, and possibilities that come both from a student's perspective and a parent's, in this stage of life.

Today, I continue to support young people through my work as a volunteer mentor with Carolina Youth Coalition, helping high school students navigate the college search and application process.

I believe that finding the right next step isn't about having all the answers. It's about understanding yourself well enough to move forward with confidence.

  • I hold a Master of Arts in Education and Human Development from the University of Colorado Denver, where my graduate research focused on college readiness and the executive function skills that support student success.

My professional background includes leadership, advising, career development, and student success roles in higher education, K–12 schools, workforce development, and nonprofit organizations. Over the years, I have helped hundreds of students navigate academic, career, and life transitions.

I am certified in CliftonStrengths, Global Career Development Facilitation, and Academic Life Coaching, and continue to expand my expertise in college and career coaching, student well-being, postsecondary planning, and inclusive coaching practices.

  • There is no one-size-fits-all path.

My role is not to tell you what to do. It's to help you better understand yourself, explore your options, and move forward with confidence.

    Together we will:

    ✓ Identify your strengths

✓ Explore possibilities that align with your interests and goals

✓ Create a practical plan for your next move

Whether you're considering college, career opportunities, training programs, or another path entirely, coaching provides the space to think clearly, make informed decisions, and take meaningful action.

All identities, backgrounds, and pathways are welcome here.
